Golf & Tennis
Farm Neck – 6 Har-Tru Tennis Courts and a top rated 18 hole semi-public golf course. Farm Neck was a collaboration of three architects, Geoffrey Cornish, Bill Robinson and Patrick Mulligan. When built, the course was carved into a beautiful peninsula or “Neck” of farmland on the eastern edge of the Island abutting Vineyard Sound. As you play, you will find yourself traversing a striking variation of topography and vegetation – everything from woodlands, to open meadows, to salt marshes, to stunning overlooks and intimate brushes with the ocean’s edge. Along with its intrinsic beauty, Farm Neck enjoys a widespread reputation for championship caliber golf. Farm Neck has continually earned a 4 1⁄2 out of 5 star rating in Golf Digest’s “Places to Play,” and is considered by many to be one of the premiere golfing experiences in the Northeast, “A true test of golf in an idyllic setting.”
Golf
Edgartown Golf Club – Private small 9/18 hole golf course in Edgartown – You will need a sponsor or letter of introduction from your Golf Club. Off Season offers the best opportunity for play.
Vineyard Golf Club – Private – You will need a sponsor or letter of introduction from your Golf Club. Off Season offers the best opportunity for play.
Mink Meadows – Public 9 hole golf course. Mink Meadows was established through the visionary work of New York City banker Robert Bigelow, an avid hunting and fishing sportsman. His love of both the Vineyard and the outdoors resulted in the acquisition of property known as Mink Meadows in the West Chop area circa 1928.
Royal and Ancient Chappaquidick Links Golf Club – 9 hole course on Chappy that you will have to Google. I played it once and it was really fun. They offer several options: you can pay $50 the day of play; you may purchase day passes at a discount for 5 or more online; and we also have individual ($600) and family ($2000) memberships available as well. Pools & Gyms
The best bet for both a pool and gym is the YMCA
The pool is 75 feet by 6 lanes and is kept at 83 degrees
You can get an individual week long membership for $75. A family membership is $110 for two adults and unlimited number of kids.
If you are already a member of a YMCA you can use the facility for $10 a day. Easy to get to and the closest to the house
The Mansion house in Vineyard Haven has an indoor pool and workout center.
This is a bit harder to get to in the summer due to the traffic. It is right in downtown Vineyard Haven.
The pool is 75 feet by 3 lanes and is kept at 83 degrees
The Airport workout and vineyard tennis center is just a workout center. It is near the airport.

Music
It will depend a lot on when you come but there is great music on the island.
The best source is the bulletin boards in town and the internet at MV Online (see MVOL).
Local Nightlife – The Atlantic, Seafood Shanty and Wharf Pub in Edgartown – all located near Dock Street and Main Street. Great music is also at the Port Hunter
Here are some sources I found that are not on MVOL
Classical concerts are held at the old Whaling Church on Mian street but they haven’t posted a schedule yet.
The Martha’s Vineyard Ticket and Event siteplays there.
If you want to hire a group for a in house concert these folks might do the trick
Most of the music is for a younger group but this venue has more classic music.
Live music at the Katharine Cornell Theater, VH.
The Tabernacle in Oak Bluffs has music. I saw Arlo Guthrie there.
