GUEST INSTRUCTIONS
WE DO CONTACTLESS PICKUP AND DROPOFF.
CHECK-IN getting your vehicle
-------------------------------
AIRPORT - normal location for 4MRZ41
Follow signs to the MV Airport main terminal and enter the long-term parking lot to the right of the main terminal. Go past areas A to B or C. Return the vehicle to a spot along the East Fence. Do not park under the trees due to sap
EDGARTOWN - We have another Locaation in Edgartown - extra fees apply
67 North Summer Street Parking Lot.
The vehicle is located on the front left side
STEP ONE - Verify your license.
Take a clear picture of your driver's license and then a selfie that shows your face and license clearly. We must be able to clearly see the license. Register any additional drivers through the Turo App. Only Turo-registered drivers can pick up the van.
The van lockbox code is provided once you complete Step One.
STEP TWO - Document the condition of the vehicle.
You will need to pull the vehicle out of its space in order to properly do this. Remove the lockbox from the window and place it on the shelf at the bottom of the center console. Using the App take a clear set of at least 10 pictures showing every exterior angle and a close-up of any damaged areas. We are aware of the following
- small dent above the trim in the left rear door
- a tiny crinkle on the driver's side middle panel
- a tiny crinkle below the sliding door handle
Next, take at least 5 pictures of the seats inside each door and finally a picture of the dash and the mileage. If you do not clearly document the condition of the vehicle then you agree that the vehicle is in perfect condition and you are responsible for any damages that are discovered upon the Check Out
STEP THREE - Exiting the lot
The key pass to exit the lot is in the glove box it is white and has colored key tags on it.
Do not slide the card into the slot. It is a tap card. Tap the card to the right of the card slot
Immediately put it back into the glove box after use. A lost pass is $500 +
JUST IN CASE: If the gate is broken use the help button on the kiosk. You can also call 401-737-7275. Or call airport operations (508) 693-7022 Ext 2 - They can then open the gate using their ID tags.
Final option: Walk around to the entrance gate and get a card manually. Then use that to exit.
CHECK-OUT Returning the vehicle
-------------------------------
DO NOT PULL A TICKET WHEN ENTERING THE LOT - USE THE PASS
If you pull a ticket to enter you will have to pay for the ticket to leave.
Trying to leave without an entry card scan is called “pass back” and the card will not work.
The only workaround is to have another car pull up to the outside of the kiosk, pull at ticket for you without going in, and then give you the ticket so you can leave.
CLEANING: Labor shortages are common throughout the island for the foreseeable future.
Please help us by leaving the van nicer than you found it.
- Washing the car if it is muddy or dirty.
- Vacuuming the car of all sand and removing all trash
For fuel and a good vacuum, this Shell station is close by at
3 N Line Rd, Edgartown, MA 02539
The carwash is too small for the van.
The gas tank is next to the driver's seat. You open the driver's door to access a small white flap that covers the gas inlet hole. Be careful as it is plastic and fragile.
USE THE APP TO TAKE PICTURES OF THE CARS CONDITION FOR RETURN
If you are flying drop your bags and passengers at the terminal first.
Again, you will need to take pictures before pulling the vehicle into the parking spot
Follow the instructions in the APP to return the vehicle.
Return the vehicle to a spot along the East Fence. Do not park under the trees due to sap
Instructions to return the key to the lockbox and lock the car at the end of the rental
Before turning off the car hang the lockbox on the driver's side window facing out.
Turn off the car, check once more for your items, and then lock the car and put the key into the lockbox.
Operating the Key Locker - if stuck
Use the bottom center switch to clear the keys.
Enter the key code. Slide the top silver switch down to open or close the catch.
Release the top silver switch.
Check that it is fully locked.
You are done.
WHAT IF THE LOCK DOES NOT WORK?
Sometimes too many keys get pressed and jam the lock. Here is how to fix it.
Use the bottom center switch to clear the keys.
If the codes do not take try pressing buttons in this order to clear them
1,2,3 clear
4,5,6 clear
7,8,9 clear
0,* clear
Then enter the code and pull the top silver switch down
The code for the van key locker is given in the app.

CAR GUIDE
You are renting a T350 Ford Transit van. You will be surprised at how easily it handles. The only thing to look out for is to make sure you round corners wide. The rear wheels are quite a ways back and if you turn sharply around an object you will ram the side of the van into it.
Be careful about low branches that can scratch the roof and boards.
Do not drive over soft sand. You will get stuck.
Close the sliding side door firmly but do not slam. If it does not close all the way try again with a little bit more force. DO NOT push the door in using the white paneling. Push on the door glass.
The fuel door is accessed by opening the driver's door. There is no cap. It is fragile when out.
Make sure that you adjust the headlights properly. Turn them to the right to set them to automatic.
Speed GPS is installed so drive carefully.
DRIVING TIPS:
Always have a designated driver.
Police have little to do (thankfully) on MV so they aggressively look for speeding, drunk drivers, and minor traffic violations. Relax and enjoy the journeys.
Some drivers do not relax so be prepared for some idiotic drivers. A wave is always helpful. Try and let people come in from side streets.
Breathe!
DO NOT PULL A TICKET WHEN ENTERING THE LOT - ONLY USE THE PASS
If you pull a ticket to enter then you have to pay for the ticket to leave.
Trying to leave without an entry card scan is called “pass back” and the card will not work.
The only workaround is to have another car pull up to the outside of the kiosk, pull at ticket for you without going in, and then give you the ticket so you can leave.
